{"id":1112,"date":"2018-01-29T15:10:51","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T15:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.deegardner.com\/new\/?p=1112"},"modified":"2018-02-04T16:21:37","modified_gmt":"2018-02-04T16:21:37","slug":"getting-into-the-habit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deegardner.com\/new\/2018\/01\/29\/getting-into-the-habit\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting into the Habit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been reminded of several different places recently that keeping a journal is a good thing.\u00a0 One of the suggestions\u00a0is to keep track of what I do each day.\u00a0 I started last Sunday but have only made that one update.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have made it easier.\u00a0 Now I need to work on making more of a habit.\u00a0 \u00a0 Here are some of the things I learned this week.\u00a0 Last Sunday, Christian Bradley, the other guy I teach with was sick so I had the opportunity to teach.\u00a0 We discussed the creation because we studying\u00a0the Old Testament this year.\u00a0 Iris one of the girls in the class pointed out that Sunday, the first day of the week, was the day the Sun was created and that is why it is called &#8220;Sun&#8221; day.\u00a0 I had never thought about that before.\u00a0 But that is cool.\u00a0 This inspired me to look to so see how Sunday is named in other languages.\u00a0 Sunday does seem to be related to the Sun in German, but not French, Spanish or Italian.\u00a0 Which use a word like Domingo.\u00a0 Which have its origin in a word meaning &#8220;The Lords Day&#8221;\u00a0 I also asked the question if other &#8220;Non&#8221; Judeo\/Christian cultures had a seven-day week?\u00a0 It seems that many cultures have adopted weeks based on the moon cycle which is based on a 28-day cycle with either 7 or 14-day week break down.\u00a0 However, there are several cultures that have used over day number versions.\u00a0 The Romans used a 10 day week and there is a culture in Indonesia, Javanese, that still have a 5-day cycle.\u00a0 \u00a0I got most of that information from Wikipedia\u00a0articles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway until next week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been reminded of several different places recently that keeping a journal is a good thing.\u00a0 One of the suggestions\u00a0is to keep track of what I do each day.\u00a0 I started last Sunday but have only made that one update. &nbsp; I have made it easier.\u00a0 Now I need to work on making more [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[12],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-1112","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-journal-entry","7":"entry"},"modified_by":"D.
