Trying to get some Focus

August 19, 2009 by D. Gardner Leave a Comment

Over the past couple of days I have reflected about topics I want to right about.  I just realized I need to put those things into my categories list so when I want to look at what I have written I can just select the category.  I have also been playing around with twitter for the last couple of days to see what that is all about.  My fear with twitter is that it may just be a fad and It is also becoming a very crowded social network.  I have a personal twitter and a twitter for my business dmgsouth and on other one to play with so I don’t hurt my other two.  I have found a couple tools that can automate a few things, but it still seems like most of it is just going to require time  and work.  I found a post about the seven deadly sins of blogging from copyblogger #2 is Sloth. here is a small quote

The 1,000th time I heard a client say, “But that sounds like a lot of work,” my brain exploded

it was a great article while it is about blogging I think it applies to the twitter. It is just going to take some work.

While I believe twitter can be a good tool now. It is more about getting people to notice you and not much about a real message. I had decided sometime ago to have two blogs a personal blog and a professional blog. This is my personal blog and may never, and sometimes I hope that is the case, that no one ever reads this blog. Mostly this is just for me. to work through stuff. On my professional blog I will give information that I think people can use for there businesses.

The thing I think I am going to focus on primarily for the next couple of years is the web development and secondarily I will focus on the Motivational Pay. With the ultimate goal to become a full time consultant for the Pay for Performance
